Twelve
electric wheels are located in a large work area, next to
shelves for drying pots and tables for hand-building.
|
|
This
gas "car" kiln is used for firing pottery with high
fire reduction glazes. The pottery shown here is ready to
be unstacked. The same room has another large gas kiln for
firing bisque ware, as well as an electric kiln.
|
 |
These
"bakery carts" provide a storage area for bisqued
pots that have had glazes applied, and are ready for the final
firing. |
 |
Other
carts hold student greenware, ready for the first firing to
transform them into bisque ware. |
 |
One
room at the Guild is dedicated to chemical storage and glaze
preparation, as well as clay reprocessing and storage. |
